PERIOD OF BIG CHANGE

University can be an exciting period in your life with the chance to learn academically, grow as a person, live independently and learn new skills. It can however represent a period of change which may be difficult to navigate as you move to a new city or country, live away from home for the first time and enter into a new environment.

COACHING CAN SUPPORT YOU

In our sessions, we will work together to provide a space to develop new skills, reinforce positive behaviours and, ultimately, improve performance. 

Coaching is about supporting an individual to gain insights into their mind to enable them to develop new and positive ways of thinking, feeling and acting. Coaching takes a non-directive, client centred and evidence based approach using the core principle that an individual has the capability to change their neural pathways and positively alter their behaviours and beliefs. 

Coaching can have significant tangible benefits to you as an individual. Research conducted by the International Coaching Federation has shown that 80% of individuals who have received coaching reported an increase in their self-confidence and over 70% reported that they benefited from improved work performance, relationships and more effective communication skills.

WHY WORK WITH ME?

Having worked in the Higher Education sector, both in a Students’ Union and University setting, I will bring this knowledge and experience to our sessions which gives me a unique insight into understanding some of the challenges faced by students. I am not affiliated with any specific University or Higher Education institution and our sessions will therefore provide a fully impartial and confidential space for you to explore your goals and develop positive strategies for success.

The strategies developed during coaching sessions will be useful not only for your time at University but will set you up for success beyond graduation as you transition into the working world or whatever comes next for you. As a coach specialising in change, I can also work with you as a private individual after your time at University.

WHO I WORK WITH

  • Students who have a confirmed, unconditional acceptance to a UK-based University.

    • We can start our sessions as soon as you have received your acceptance letter. You may find it beneficial to begin before your first academic term so that you can start your University life with confidence, focus and clarity.

  • UK, EU or International students.

  • Students at all levels of University study (i.e. undergraduate and postgraduate).

  • Over 18s only

PARAMETERS OF STUDENT COACHING

  • I am unable to provide advice on visa-related matters. UKCISA is a national advisory body who can provide advice on student immigration queries. The Admissions Department at your University should also be able to advise or signpost you to the right information.

  • I only work with students who have already been accepted into a UK-based university.

  • While our sessions may provide you with insights into how to improve your performance and implement systems for success, I am not an academic advisor and cannot provide specific advice on your academic work (such as proof reading or essay structure).

WORKING TOGETHER

  • 1 x 1 hour session

    Cost: £50

  • 1 x initial session at the start of term to establish your goals and motivations.

    5 x 1:1 coaching sessions.

    1 x end of term review.

    Cost: £325

  • 1 x initial session at the start of the academic year to establish your focus and goals

    1 x mid-programme review

    1 x end of year review

    11 x 1:1 coaching sessions

    Cost: £625

Sessions typically last up to an hour. It is possible to carry out single sessions, however to maximise the value of coaching, it is recommended that the coaching programme lasts a number of sessions.
